These Ike dollar may become hot again, I noticed jumps in prices for the past year of two on ebay, maybe it is because silver prices? Q: Why didn't they make a 75 Ike?

Quote: Q: Why didn't they make a 75 Ike? They kind of did. In 1975 they minted the type 1 Bicentennial coins, in 1976 they minted the type 2 coins. (I think)

Well, I had alot of the coins here already - mostly the business strikes in mint packaged cello wraps. The P and d from 73 to 78. and all of the 1976's. That accounts for about 17 coins I already had in boxes with no place to show them off. I never liked the Whitman albums much and even though I had almost all my circulated coins (cents, nickels, and dimes I kept in Whitman folders only because that was the only one I could get back in the '70's I just stuck with it because I like consistency and need order. Now comes the CCF and I discover the Dansco brand. Everybody is talking about the 7070 type coin album which I get al start to fill from my collection I manage to fill 31 holes right off the bat, then I start to look at the prices of the other coins and wonder what I just got myself into. I see the popularity of the Eisenhower coins. So I jump tracks and get the 8176 Ike album, and break out my Ikes and get them in the album, Seeing that I'm already halfway done, I just "go for it" and start a buying spree on Clad and Silver proofs and BU coins.
I had the money for these as the price was way more manageable. the most expensive one was only $65.00. On average the rest was about $30.00. If it weren't for the Covid pandemic I probably would not have done this. The lock down and all, I managed to not spend any money on anything until now. After all I live alone (me and my 2 German Sheppard dogs), I have no family to look after and buy things for so my money just piles up.
The rest was just shopping for the coins I thought looked good at a decent price and ordered away. The quickness of the sellers and the USPS did the rest. Nice fast shipping.
Now that I accomplished one album, it will be far easier to finish more.

Nice set! Guess it would take a year for me to complete the Ikes set :) You were hunting raw coins only or there were also some slabs cracked to fil the holes in the album?

Fantastic album and a job well done! Quote: Q: Why didn't they make a 75 Ike? Same reason not 1975 Quarters or Half dollars. The Bicentennial issues. Quote: They kind of did. In 1975 they minted the type 1 Bicentennial coins, in 1976 they minted the type 2 coins. (I think) Yup.

Thanks, It's my very first completed Album. I have lots of completed Whitman Folders - but that will change to Dansco So I can display them in my library. (when I build one)
