I have this 1993 Lincoln Cent that my mother gave me, looks pretty good to me. I'm considering having it graded. how bout it what do you all think. I'm hoping for at least a MS67. Am I setting my self up for a big let down.

to CCF. A coin need to be worth at least $150 retail after slabbing to justify all costs involved. In this case your coin needs to grade MS69 and it does not come close to a MS69, sorry. http://www.numismedia.com/rarecoinp...proof=&plus=

I'm thinking AU58. Coin is showing some light wear on obverse high spots, along with some modest rim dings. Is that Machine Doubling just off Abe's nose?

Too much light for an accurate grade. Looks to at least MS-65 but probably nowhere near worth spending the money on a slab.

65 sounds fair.
I would give him an acetone soak and 2x2 him noting Mom gave you this.

I agree with don't send to grading. I am wondering about rim wear besides the nicks. There is also apparently some residue on the reverse upper area. Hard to see individual steps like you might see in many higher MS strikes.

For what it's worth....

Stay well,
