Nice. That needs to be in a hard plastic holder.

Great error coin!

While it's good that you are holding the coin by the edges, you may want to get some cotton inspection gloves. This will help reduce the danger of unwanted toning and finger prints on coins with silver content. You can get them for around a buck a pair on https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=cotton...s-doa-p_1_18

Using the smile.amazon address will let you setup donations to your favorite charity with each purchase at no extra cost, check it out!

If that is a soft flip 2X2, get it out of there. PVC damage comes from the soft flips. Better in a hard flip. The coin will turn purple in there and be ruined on a BU coin. Move it out now if this is a soft flip.

Will it fit properly in a hard plastic holder without pushing it all together?

Not sure. Is there a coin shop near you? They might be able to help you.

Those coins was 80% silver with bonded 21.5% silver and 78.5% copper. Normally this bonded must not detached. It is a very unique and rare thing to happened. Me I try to look for reasons but do not come out in my mind. The bonded silver normally will make mass with core. Very strange effect here.

I hope everyone understand that I try to see what could cause this. the coin her self is unique I see like this. small scale yes , but so large effect? NO.

Only a structural analysis can tell us the causes, Sorry I am crazy for the reasons.

for me it is unique.
