Do we have a second example of a cracked planchant today....... Not sure due to the curved rim on the reverse but looks promising. I am NO expert in this arena but a really cool looking coin. BUT.... I AM DIGGIN the Bob Ross Avatar!!!!! What a GREAT painter!!!! Bad day when he passed.... I'll give three thumbs up for that Avatar!

Greasy and this is definitely a cool one and I've viewed some of his other posts. I'm not familiar with cracked planchants, just thought I'd comment, but I am completely familiar with Bob Ross......LOL.

Not sure if this fits into this category, but it might: "Ragged Clips"
http://www.error-ref.com/ragged-clips/

Or is it a cracked planchet?

I just can't tell for sure from the image.

I used the edge of the coin for borders on the last coin I edited:

It looked like the right thing to do with it.

Very nice. I would try and get that gunk off of it though.

This in my opinion is ragged. Crack planchet never show like this. Seem to be , but cracked planchet retain the parts who separate because the molecular link was broke by the exterior forces and the miss of the re-structural refusion on the miss of enough heat (temperature).

I say ragged. Nice example. end of the roll planchet.

PS after I see the side. Nice. Seem the ragged was done in the process of striking. After reeded, very nice.

I'm leaning towards cracked planchet. Why? "What would cause the lamination to peel on the bust, unless there was a crack going in that direction?" That is my logic. (It is attached on the right side folding to the right over the bust, correct?)
