I've not seen that placement before. But there are probably a million of these out there. I called this an angled mintmark This happens often, but we just don't notice it that much. )).jpg)

I'm tending to agree. Having said that, a close-in, sharp photo of the mintmark might prove interesting. Thanks.

I do not remember till which year the mint mark was hand punch, but from 345 mill, probably at least hundreds thousand of this could be find.

1989 was the last year they stopped punching in the mintmarks. The 1990 coins were the ones with the mintmark in the design for each of the mints. (Except for the dies they forgot to have the mintmark as part of the designs?)

Given just this one image to assess, it looks to me like the MM is no longer in the position it started out in.
