1987-D LMC - Two Different MM Punches?

I spent some time the last few days going through around 200 different circulated 1987D Cents. Of all of them, four of them seemed to have a "D" mintmark that looks to be wider than the others. Does anyone know of multiple styles of punches used this year?

Narrow version
1987-D-LMC---Two-Different-MM-Punches?

Wide version
1987-D-LMC---Two-Different-MM-Punches?

Anybody have any input?

They are all the same punch, but location of the punch with several strikes can make them wider/taller or even (my favorite) RPMs.

There was only one D mintmark punch size for 1987 cents.
