Dryer coin. The edges were forced in and the copper worn off the high points. I think this is the first I've seen on a zinc cent.

Only thought maybe broad struck bc it had a cup to it..

I see what you're looking at, but that looks like a bit of metal from the rim that got folded back onto the fields and devices. I've seen the same thing happen just from wear to coins with rim fins.
Nevertheless, it's cool example of this type of damage.

What a fun example to learn from. I'll be honest, my guess at the top was that it was encased in some kind of bezel.

I refer these as MIL coins. (Mother--In-Law) Your not happy to see these, but your always happier when they are gone.
