Hey guys, I've got an interesting one. It's for sure zinc, it's worn through around the edges of the obverse. No MAD, so I don't think it can be #1.. what do you guys think?

I think it's a beat up 1982 zinc Lincoln. Not a DDO or a DDR.

No trust me. The obverse is doubled big time. I can't believe I didn't think more of this when I found it and took the pictures last night. It's naked eye visible. Easily. I guess last night I figured there were already some of this die documented. But I can't find anything anywhere. It's almost as good as 72 fs-101 in the date. But it goes all the way around with clear notches. The reverse could be Strike Doubling or worn die. I'm not sure. I haven't looked at it that closely yet. But this is an awesome coin. I'll take more pics and post them within an hour or 2.

The master hub was swollen that year. All the large dates looked like that. The DDO-002 is showing a large spread on that die.

Here is a side by side of a normal large date and a doubled die. Note the spread on the DDO compared to the normal large dates.

Hey Coop, I just did a pretty thorough comparison to DDO 002. They aren't matching up anywhere. The doubling looks similar on Liberty, but that's about it. None of the die scratches are on mine. Nor is the bay 3 die clash on the reverse. And the date on my coin is a major spread. I haven't seen any images of 002 having anything close.

I wish I had a chance to get some pics during the day, because outdoors in natural daylight this thing blows me away. I want to capture that too show you guys. But I'll keep trying tonight. But if not, I know I can get some tomorrow.

The devices on your coin look normal, but sometimes MD can alter them strong, or slightly. A closer view in segments like the images I took, may show us better what you are seeing?

Okay, look for notching in the bottom tails of the S(s), top of N in Cent (faint but there), and E of America.

PS: Check out that Die Crack! There's a few.

I would like to see a closer view of the tops of the devices on Liberty. I though it looked a bit like die trails angling to the left. There is also a DDO-001 or 003? Note on it, and compare it to your images. The space between the 'LI' shows a crowded 'I' on one of those two. But I still feel it is just a normal large date. Not sure what you are seeing on the reverse. But the devices on the reverse look normal in size.

Coop, thanks for looking it over again and taking the time to answer. I haven't really gotten good images of the obverse yet. It's an odd coin. I'm wondering if it could be a double struck coin or something. Its mostly present in the 8 and 2. Oh! But I got an 82 today that is the MAD obverse and had some serious separation on the the bottom of the 2 as well! Almost forgot about that. I need to investigate with my loupe.

But right now on this coin I'm mostly wondering what to think about the notching on the reverse.

Just look at the second S of States. The bottom tail end or whatever its called. I know it's pretty minor, but as far as I can tell it IS doubled. Unless somebody can explain otherwise. But again just to make it simple, only look at that S and maybe tell me what's going on there.

Thanks again!
