When blanks are punched out of the sheet, sometimes the metal on the edge can be distorted a bit. This just means the punch struck it from the reverse.
The cutting of the blanks, will show the direction it was cut. The copper colors moved from center will tell the direction. With the color moved like this one, that will show us the direction. But this occurs on all clad coins.
