Hello forum,

I found this 1957 Wheaty with some major lamination issue on both the obverse and reverse. My question is when does a lamination issue add value and not just a coin to keep in the example book? Thank you for you feedback always appreciated.

It's interesting, and certainly a keeper, but I don't think I would classify it as "major." It adds a little value, but I doubt anyone would pay more than a couple bucks for it. The area(s) affected would have to be significantly larger to have any real premium. The condition/type of the host coin matters, too. In this case, being a Wheat cent helps, but it's a common date and only average condition, so it doesn't really add any premium on its own.

Both sides at the same angle. Interesting.

Nice dual side lamination error cent - hard to say about an added value - check out "Sold" ebay listings for lamination Lincoln Cent errors.
