Very nice find....no need to worry about DDs vs. DDD on that cent (regarding earlier post).. ... 2x2 worthy Edited: notice the lack of a formed rim opposite the clip.. It's called......?

I don't like the clip area BUT there does seem to be a Blakesley Effect. So for now I'll call it a legit clip.

@Kanga Curious why don't you like it? Agree on seeing the Blakesley Effect so whats "wrong"? Thanks JB

@Kanga: If you say " Blakesley Effect" can you please elaborate? Sorry but I want to learn and see more.
PS: Do not keep the coin in your not protected hands.

@silviosi I knew I'd get in trouble for that!! Nope only long enough to snap that shot. And I try to wash, and thoroughly dry my hands a few times while sorting. Good for me and the coins!

@Rothery ? Well in a box of wheats that I bought. As I go through them though I can tell you IF they were previously gone through, it wasn't well. I've got 3 1909 pennies thus far and about 30 1943s. Sadly all steel.

@silviosi Coop gives an excellent description in this thread. http://goccf.com/t/396695In essence, the side opposite the clip also has an affected edge as there is no balance to the coin at strike.
