Hello, normally I'm not lazy and host and post my own images, but this coin has so many detailed images and explanations that I'm not familiar with, and I don't have it in hand yet.

This was bought for a client, as I don't collect VAM's specifically,

I was curious as to what if any this coin has over PCGS book value, as that is all he authorized me to pay for it.

1901-O PCGS MS65 Morgan dollar

VAM-1A MDS Super Clashed Die (SCD)
Used to be the EDS, but an earlier stage was assigned that designation and this became the middle die sate (MDS).

Highest graded specimen.

1901-O VAM-1A Die Gouge in Ear, Clashed Obverse n & Double t
This coin is a Super CD Morgan VAM.
1A(revised) III21 · C3a (Die Gouge in Ear, Clashed Obverse n & Double t) (181) I-2 R-5
Obverse III21- Diagonal die gouge inside ear. Clashed die with faint partial incuse n of In slightly away from Liberty head neck.The EDS of VAM 1A has a strong double incuse t from Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge.
Reverse C3a- Normal die of C3 type with medium III O mint mark centered and upright.

For me, unless it's a Top 100 VAM, I wouldn't give it much of a premium. If a coin has interesting die cracks or strong clashes like this one, it might make it easier to sell at full value, but I wouldn't pay more than retail value. But others may think differently, and it only takes one interested buyer to make a sale.
