Very nice! One of my favorite varieties and certainly a very tough one to find in circulation. Congrats!

very nice find,

but How can there be doubled ear when the rest of the head/face is not doubled?

EDIT: was the die carved with the doubled ear?

Well the affected areas are shallow areas where the design was not all that deep. Where as the ear and beard areas are deeper. So like the doubled eyelids, they incuse mark was made, and the shallow devices couldn't remove them. They were that deep into the die.
