I received this Mexican 8 reales recently with the seller dating it at 1769, but based on my search online, that doesn't seem right or else I haven't found the right info. Could anyone help me id the approximate date of this coin? Thank you! Any additional info is also welcome!!!

Definitely not 1769. These were issued from 1791 to 1808: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces18852.html

The FT initials narrow it down to 1801-1803.

Agreed, reign of Charles the Fourth 1790- ? and the OM on the reverse indicates Mexico City.
