I wouldn't touch it, but that's just me. Looks a lil fishy.

Looks like a fake to me, the MM doesn't look right. People are nuts for bidding it up with NO RETURN policy. Nothing like paying $1000 only to discover you've been had. Buying a raw key date, especially the S VDB, over the internet is for THE STUPID.

Pay through PayPal with a credit card if you're bidding. It's a $2K coin that should be TPG if it's real.

Now that's interesting...and not in a good way. Of course, that's my opinion, but compare this coin to the 4 actual 09-S VDB dies: In this case, the mint mark need not be scrutinized (despite being suspect too). Compare the shape and spacing of numerals in the date of the ebay coin to the 4 dies above. Someone's going to get taken (imo)

This coin would need very good large pictures for me to bid on it , if it has any of the markers to show its a legit coin that would need to be emphasised in the photo's the mint mark needs a very good large picture to be authenticated .
There is no way I would bid on this coin .

definitely fake -numerals arent the right style -not the correct obverse hub for the year -mint mark is not of the right style -VDB looks choppy which is almost impossible near the rim if the rest of the surface is clear
it looks like a 1950s coin with the date changed and vdb added

Comparing the date area side-by-side, the differences are dramatic:

All I have is that reference pic, which I believe came from a ANA article. Whatever the source, 4 obverse dies are confirmed elsewhere, and I used this guide to verify my 1909-S VDB (I took a risk and bought one raw). I can recommend David Lange's "Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents". I'm sure many other Lincoln collectors with more expertise can recommend other books.

Welp, someone just lost $948. Let this be a good lesson to all. Even the VDB looks a bit fishy to me but the date is definitely bad.

I agree with KurtS on the authenticity of the coin. It's unfortunate that someone was deceived by this. Now they'll probably lose another $30 on TPG but at least they'll know they got took and may be able to do something about it.

Very first glance I thought the numbers were wrong, especially the "1" and the second 9. "A fool and his money......."
