Hi every body,
I have a 1935 US Mercury dime which I thought should be Philadelphia mint, but when I looked at the reverse of the coin, I realised that it had "D" mint mark which was removed and then used as a Philadelphia mint. Please have a look to the high lighted part of the pictures and let me know if I am right or wrong?
With regards,
Habib.

How about an image a little further back. That way we can a little more about what is going on. It might be die flow lines or a possible fill of grease on the mintmark. Either way it would not warrant a premium. (but inquiring minds always want to know)

Grease Fill is a possibility. It doesn't look intentional, and I can't imagine why someone would go to the trouble of making it look like a more common date.

While it looks like a mintmark, I don't want to rule out Pareidolia.

Well it does have the rounded look on the top left side of the normal mintmark on the shadow mintmark?

TWO points, please. First no monitor shots PLEASE. Second, belongs in Classic section, not Modern. Thanks.
