Listed as a die crack, I noticed the crack was unusually straight and in an atypical location on the head. Looking at the blurry full coin pict I saw what looked like the crack extending through the bottom left of the bust and to the rim. I don't have it in hand yet but hoping this is what I think it is. I don't see any LWC RRDC's on cudsoncoins either. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Rothery, yeah its a bad photo but if you zoom in it looks like DC goes rim to rim. I will definitely update photos if it is a RRDC.

I can see the crack starting at the top rim and going down and the crack starting at the bottom rim and going up but can't tell if they are joined or not. When you get the coin, please show a picture of the Obverse. Good Luck, hopefully you have a new discovery.

One way to tell if it is from the same die that has not advanced it is this: Note the location of the mintmark. If the mintmark location is a match it maybe an example that was before the listing. If the location is not a match, well, it isn't from the same die.

Greg. Are you going to send pictures to Cud's? Sense it's not RRDC then doubled Spike Head?

Hey Rob, JC said He would list it as a single spike head. It seems a more significant break to me, but with all the wear I guess there's no way to tell. This coin showed a similar situation, UDC-1c-1917S-01R http://cuds-on-coins.com/udc-1c-2007/

The non shiny images are a better look. Looks like this obverse die would be retired early in its life. The reverse would be matched up to another die marriage.
