Its one of them rare. (Lost on the highway and ran over a bunch of times) coins.

@cur, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes that is damage rather than a mint error. You can see the underlying zinc core in many areas where the copper plating has been abraded away.

Post strike damage--appears to have been abraded on both sides. We often see this form of damage posted on the forum.

I want to thank everyone for the comments. I am new to this and I really didnt think it was an error but had to prove to the hubby. I have some others and I am still trying to read through rules and instructions before posting anymore.
I also appreciate the welcome's. I apologize for the delay in responding but I dont have a lot of time to devote to this yet however I am working on that.

Somehow just ground down however it was used. Can ya even spend it for a cent anymore?
