This is one of the US classic coins I recently came across at local online auction. Do you think it's real or fake?

I tried to compare the pictures with proven real ones from PCGS database but still unsure.

If it's real could it possibly get a straight grade? I see some deep scratches and also multiple rim issues, not sure regarding cleaning.

Here is the picture I shamelessly ripped off from the auction site.

The dings and nicks all over both sides makes me lean more towards genuine, since it does not seem too likely if this were a fake to have as many scratches all over certain areas. I would spot grade this as an XF-40 or so.

Thanks everyone for your valuable insights!
Guess I'd rather skip unless the price would be really attractive ;)

I'd pass on it. Definitely in bad shape and there are tons of counterfeits floating around, some quite good.
