I take pride in my goal of building the largest collection of Korean mint errors in the world. Give me a decently graded Korean error coin over a Top Pop "regular" coin any day; not that I don't also love Top Pops. I recently sent in at least 30 Korean errors to NGC and got a big set that I have not yet opened, but I peaked at a smaller submission that included an 1898 DDO 1/4 YANG. The DDO is obvious and can be seen without magnification, so I wasn't shocked that I got the attribution. However, I was very pleased to see that my DDO discovery was added to the NGC Census as a die variety.

The DDO is in the words "1/4 YANG". It being the first attribution to the die variety, it is also a "Top Pop" sitting pretty at AU-53. ^^

Thank you. I actually have another one where the DDO is on the four Korean characters to the right of 1/4 Yang. Time to get that one sent in and attributed as well.

Nice one! I have so far come across Korean error coins completely by dumb luck including a rotated die error 5 fun. A DDO is really neat!!!

What do you think of this error Lembafc?

It looks like doubling on the letter "hundred" but can't quite tell what it is.

@Gxseries I've tried to send in a similar coin and NGC did not call it a DDO, as it was Machine Doubling. :(
