Hello everyone! My son and I decided to go through my father's 20+ years of coffee cans full of change. Of course we cashed in all the silver to the bank before we knew anything about errors and collectors. (The devastation is real.) We are still learning a lot but we were wondering why this 1995 Lincoln Penny has a damaged mint mark.

Well I'm not sure how to answer that without sounding sarcastic. It's damaged because it's been circulated and beat up.

Agreed- damage can happen for any number of reasons. This just took a hit from something.
