Hi It is a real pleasure to have joined this forum to increase knowledge and share numismatics with you. due to a deterioration process, but I suppose a die defect. It also has a diameter of 18mm instead of 19mm, the weight of 2gr instead of 3.11. coin. Kindly ask for your opinion. Thank you.

Am I the only one to suspect counterfeit? It's smaller than a normal cent, weighs less than a normal cent, has blurry features and overall has a cast look to it, and was found in a foreign country? Now, why would someone forge a 1977 (?) cent? I didn't do it, so I don't have all the answers, but if you wanted to counterfeit a coin, you gotta start somewhere. Take another close look and tell me, am I crazy? (Wait- I probably am). Maybe it's meant to be a toy coin? Just sharing my thoughts here on this one. -Leslie
