I thought I would share this interesting item I stumbled across by happenstance. Was in unmarked 2x2 and going into a trash can. Neat bit of history as well.

Wow, neat! I had no idea this existed. Awesome bit of history. Very well preserved too.

How large is it? And (if you happen to know) what would the denomination have been at the time?

Wouldn't mind one of the gold versions of that in the collection.
Interesting item indeed.

Thanks for all the responses and questions. I will answer with what I've learned so far after about three days of non-stop research. Admittedly most of that time was spent on simply just ID'ing the Coin Token (I hope) accurately.

1. Weight about 3.75 grams, 21-22 mm diameter, and the composition is Silver 802 standard. Quite thin.

2. In regards to denomination I have only found one reference which roughly translated to "silver ducat".

3. Originals are either gold or silver. Despite gold being abnormally difficult to obtain at the time the silver version is consistently listed as being more rare.

4. Later restruck in gold, silver, copper, and white medal. Restrikes are simple to identify and must have been created at minimum a decade or three after the Empress's reign. Again, the restrike composed of silver is consistently listed as being more rare.

5. I have yet to find a single mention of the respective mintages.

6. So far I have found 15 individual archived auction/sales results spanning from 1972 to 2020, and one coin token that is currently for sale retail. I have yet to see even a pic of the white medal variety.

Gainn, I personally favor gold as well but WOW they are pricey.

Lastly, and in my opinion most importantly, is the fact this piece was literally saved from the the proverbial "dustbin of history". Saved by dumb-luck and relentless curiosity.

Whoever was throwing that in the bin lost out on a seriously valuable bit of history. Judging by the prices they've gone for I'll probably never buy one (without a far more expensive divorce coming afterwards) so the photos are very welcome.
Any chance of some off-axis shots?

Holy !@#$%^&$#. That going on a bin? I don't know what it goes for today but I reckon it's easily a couple hundred even in holed condition.

Good job saving it!
