The doubling takes place because the die was struck more than once, not the coin, so most doubled dies will be catalogues there or other websites like Wexler's. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/02/2021 12:23 pm The hub that creates the die, had a misalignment on a doubled die example. On a doubled die, the die is doubled. If it is a striking issue, this can happen on normal dies, and doubled dies as well. (To a collector of die varieties, any MD would be a negative for the coin and probably be a deal breaker. But the graders, don't dock for Machine Doubling. (The buyers don't want a problem coin) Report this Post to the Staff
