Not sure what is going on with this. Maybe mounted at one time ? The weakness of the strike on one side of the obverse and reverse got my interest.

I would say odd but damage. The coin is out of round, it got squeezed or smashed.

Thank you for the reply. The coin is actually round. There is like a second rim that gives the appearance of it being out of round. The weight is normal.

On a partial collar you would see the part in the collar and the area outside of the collar would be expanded:

But on your coin it looks like the center area is the original strike. The other two enlargements are from being squeezed. If they would have stopped at the first affected area, that could have fooled us, but the doubled roll over on the edge would be all the same event as one squeezing. Most often we see damage on the edge looking like dimpling:

The coin appears to be copper in these images, so a zinc coin might respond to flattening differently. On a Texas Cent, the squeezing makes the plating falling off of the coin.

Your coin is showing that also. So it is a damaged coin.

Not doubting that it is PMD but the the coin is the same diameter as any other LC. It looks like the copper plating is still in the area of the groove.(which goes all the way around the coin) Just curios, What does this coin exhibit that would not be related to a partial collar ? Yea I know...sounds like I'm arguing. I'm having a hard time understanding this one.

I also think this is Post Strike Damage. The rims have been pushed in and are now over the motto on the obverse and the lettering on the reverse. The rims had to be normal when the coin was struck. This couldn't have happened during the minting process.

Here's a partial collar strike from my collection. You can see the difference between the two coins.

ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Thanks everyone for your help on this one. I was hoping it was an error. The more I looked at it...the more it looked like a Dryer Coin. (Took me long enough to figure it out LOL)
BTW-Yokozuna- If I do find a partial collar, I hope it is as nice as yours.
