Is this a " Cud" error ? Or do you think it is damaged? If it's an error, is it too small to carry a premium? I'm gonna keep it either way if it's not just damaged lol
I see a nice die chip--cuds are traditionally associated with rims. Extra value? No. A rabid die chip collector might pay 25-50 cents for it. On another matter, is that the beginnings of a cracked skull on Abe's head (die cracks)?
A Cud is when a a piece of the outside edge of the die breaks off the die: Note the missing part of the die? That is what causes a Cud to show on a die: Also on a Cud, you will see a weakness opposite that area, because the void, can't produce a strike on the opposite side of the coin. A die chip is a small break away from the die, but not a huge break away like a Cud would show. Chips don't show a weakness on the opposite side of the coin. Hope this helps. I have tons more of images to help if needed.
