What kind of batteries do you guys recommend for an Ace? I was thinking of rechargeables with some alkaline back ups in my bag.

Absolutely! Get the lithium batteries and a plug-in charger. At the price they are right now, I'd just get two sets of lithium. These are in no way like the old Ni-Cad rechargeable batteries. They don't develop that "recharge memory" the old Ni-Cads were famous for. Lithiums will probably last all day unless you're constantly on the target ID. I use a set of these in my White's and just pull 'em out at the end of the day for a recharge.

I get about a weeks worth of hunting (3-4 trips) out of a set of Grocery store batteries double that for Energizer or Duracell. We hit the sales when we see them and stock up. I have not thought about rechargeables I will have to see how they work....

- They do not die off slowly like AA...they just die
- Their life expectancies are severally diminished compared to a AA
- The longer you keep charging them they less they eventually hold.

Been doing sound for 15 years and have Never had a good experience. It's more of a industry known standard to never use em for most of these reasons.

If you buy good alkaline batteries, like the panasonic, you won't need rechargeables.
