I have brought this one to other "tables" before.

The consensus seems to be that it is likely a '93.

I still have my doubts and wishful thoughts.

Would a place like PCGS and others be able to discern for sure and or for certain? Is this you?

I need closure on this piece, lol

It does look like a 3 and it would cost way more then the coin is worth to send to a TPG.

Looks like a 3 to me. The 2 has a more open loop at the top
whereas the 3 has a closer loop.

Different designs on the 1992 and the 1993 obverse dies.

I'm seeing the three as well. And I agree, certainly not cost effective to have it graded. Keep searching!

Awesome! I figured there was another way to discern, no one has ever presented this to me in the couple of years I've had it. Thank you!

I am going to add 3 photos that I took just now with the USB microscope.

By your 3 tells, my tie looks '93, my chin looks '92 and my year looks blunt as well as rounded.

Of course my eyes are not schooled enough to still yet conclude, and I thank you for your reply, most excellent!

Nothing too much in this horrible affliction is cost effective. A, $1000 collectable penny is still only a penny at the grocery store. It really wasn't/isn't about cost effectiveness, it is about settling this matter once and for all, having it graded, however expensive it would be, is an option and not one I actually want to take unless it is a '92.

Searching pennies in Canada is extremely limited! I tackled a guy at the CoinStar machine. There were some pennies dropping through. I bought them off of him and went to his place to buy all that he had left... almost 500 pieces at 2 cents per piece.

I've tried to get Americans to send me unsearched rolls from a bank but the Shipping is absolutely not cost effective. Actually, this LMC came from my one and only successful trade that included an unsearched roll from a New Mexico resident and collector. He nearly shat himself when I posted that I might have gotten a 1992 D Close AM.

Thanks for your reply.

The chin is a 1993. You can't have a mixture. It is one or the other. Take another look at the differences. Your coin just has a hit on that area. Note on the 92 chin, the two folds that affects the outside edge of that area. Yours has a hit and the outside edge is not affected, but is typical for the 93.

Yup, that is kinda a basic understanding, no?. Like I mentioned, no one ever brought this up, the chin/the tie/the blunt and rounded 9's, and my eyes are still learning how to not only look but being able to see and recognize.

Thanks for the reply.
