Thought I'd put up four different seated half collars tonight and see how you all grade them. Should be interesting. I don't own them (yet) but figured they may be good for a fun grading guesses here at CCF 1844-O PCGS    "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. Feldman - "And read it" - Me 2013! Out of the 4...I'd put this in the top spot....MS-64/64+ Edited...Opps reverse rim looked square to me...changed to MS after reading Ty2020b's post...thanks Ty...I'm always "still learning"..   Edited by Greasy Fingers

The rims look somewhat squared...little chatter on the right obverse and a tick.
The reverse detail is fantastic.
I'm with Greasy Fingers PF64/64+
Beautiful coin!

I find this the most difficult coin to grade. To me, it can either be AU58 or MS63.

Okay since the guesses have died off it's time to reveal the grades.
The key is none of the four half dollars I posted are proof, they are all business strikes, though two of them (#3 & #4) look a lot like proof coins. Also all were submitted for CAC and only one got approval (that one might surprise you).
This coin has a nice pedigree coming from the fairly well known collection built by by Dick Osburn.
This one is PCGS Cert #19510651 MS62 (NO CAC)
