The 1954 is a nice coin, AU, I also agree with vermontensium, VG and G-4 Try soaking in Olive Oil, can't hurt it.

Thanks! I'll try the olive oil; does anyone know why that helps?
Edit: how long in the olive oil?

Not commenting the "problems" mentioned above;
'24-S is VF20 net to F12, '24-S is VG8 net to G4, '54 is MS62RD.

I agree with F12 after damage and G4. Hard to judge the 54 with the pics! :)

Thanks! As for the 1954, I'll see if I can get better pictures, it does look shaper in-hand.

Pretty much agree except the 54 might grade higher, hard to tell with the pictures. The 24S would likely respond well to VERDI-GONE™, but it's pretty thick verdigris, no telling what's under it.

With respect to the 24S verdigris, I don't know if it would be worth putting it through the verdi-gone, as it isn't that great a grade to begin with, and it wouldn't increase the grade/value much anyways.

Very true rogers. If you like the coin and plan to keep it then I guess you could verdigone, otherwise leave it be for the next guy :)

Figured out some of the macro settings for my camera, so I now have 1400x1400 pixel pictures for my coins I tried it on a British 1 Shilling and it was amazing! Anyways, here is the 1954 again (I think the grade will be knocked down a bit with these pictures, although to be honest, I can only see some of the scratches when I look at it extremely closely.) EDIT: The pictures at the top of the thread were replaced with the new ones, so I won't add them again here. Thanks for your comments!
