Hello all,

Last Sat Nite (27th), I found my first 1972 DDO.

I spent the next 20 minutes with my copy of A Quick Reference to the top Lincoln Cent Die Varieties trying to nail down which one. It for sure was not the 001 and I settled on the 008. Local dealer thought it might be the 003, but I've no photographic reference. Gotta visit coppercoins.

Been at this a year and regret I've no pictures to share. I get inspired by seeing your finds. Like many of you, I search rolls of pennies I Shmooze from my local banks. Gonna start seeking out more\different sources. I have found too much in a year to let this go. Free Money Is Awesome The day before I found the 72, I also found my 2nd, 1983 Brass Plate Strike, I saw it in the end of the roll B\4 I got out the door of the bank.

And Coop thanks for the great photos of your 72's in a recent post. Helped me 95% nail down the variation I found.

If your new like me and have a hard time with the difference between a DDO\DDR and strike or Machine Doubling, it takes time. I have invested many hours creating my cheat sheets as to what to look for on what coin and in the process seen hundreds of photos of DDO\DDR and Machine Doubling. I've even favorited some photos as references.

The 5 year old inside me cant wait to create my Avitar.

Happy Hunting\New Year

I just made another collage of images of 001, 002, 003 & 008. Seems like we are finding them more often than others.

Thanks Guys,

Thats a nice collage Coop.

I figured out how to get my paper weight to photograph my coins. Gotta build the stand to hold the camera and the magnifier that gets applied to the front of the lense. Photos so far are too blurry.

Happy Hunting
