Hi, I would like to say first that I love this forum. Well, I have a penny with no face on it. It has a slight shadow of a face but I can't make out a date or any of the lettering. I do not believe it has been under acid or anything because it is still smooth to the touch. There is a ridge around it like there is supposed to be. The back of the penny is just like normal, it's just the front that is messed up. I can't find another coin anywhere like this and I would like you guys to give me a little more information on it and also an approximate price range that I can sell it for; times are tough right now. Please help me out, thanks!

**NOTE: the blackish brown spots in the pic seem to be just dirt, they don't have any texture at all and I don't want to clean it because I heard it makes the value less. I can't seem to get a better pic but I'll keep trying.

It was struck through a capped die.

A die cap is when a coin sticks to the hammer die, this coin was struck while the die cap was still in place.

I've found 3 of these and sold all of them between $10-$15 each.

Just to add to the above post. This maybe a mid stage die cap since it does not show any bleed through of the underlying die. As the die stage progresses, some portions of the actual die begin to appear.
