Is this AG 1875-CC Seated Liberty dime worth anything more than ten cents?

Bullion value as of now is about 80c, but I wouldn't give this up for anything less than $10 or $12.

I think this takes the prize for lowest-grade Carson City coin I've ever seen. It's not even AG; I'd call it Poor-1 since it's barely recongizable for date and mintmark, plus it has that little graffiti carving below the wreath.

If you wanted to sell it and someone offered $10, I'd let it go. I picked up a Fine+, no-problem example of this date on ebay last May for $22, so a much better coin shouldn't cost you too much. They are actually pretty common.

That's a keeper.
With that around, you'll never be broke and your coin
collection will always have at least one Carson City!

It's my speed to keep something like that though. You
might not have that 'pack rat' quality about you.

Oh, and consider this... That coin has EARNED a long,
quiet, and distinguished retirement! That thing worked
too hard in circulation to end up bullion.

I think its crazy that below the wreath someone actually carved the "blair witch project" effigy into the coin.

Which means someone must have taken this obviously old coin and blatantly defaced it.....why would you do that? It would be like coloring in the pages of an old book just because its.....there.

its a FR-2 in my opinion with graffiti. 1875cc isn't exactly a rare date anyway, so I dont think you would get much more than $2.00 for it, if that.

ratio411: Right on, brother! I'd hang onto rat droppings if they had "cc" stamped on them!

This is a purely subjective question, and my purely subjective answer is, "I'd appreciate that coin in my collection as much as a Mint State example, but for different reasons."

Your coin is worn just about as completely as it can be, while remaining readable. I would contend that it's more difficult to find in that condition than it would be to find in Mint State.

Go try to find a P01 Morgan. You'll see what I mean.

I dunno...
This one would give it a run for it's money!
The original thread on this one, the owner
didn't even realize it was a CC!

Am I missing something here?
It appears to me that the mint mark is above the
wreath, below the "One Dime"...
In 1875 the mint mark was below the wreath, just
between it and the rim of the coin. Right where
the 'vandalism' is on this one. Am I seeing things?

If I am not seeing things, then wouldn't that mean
that 1875 is incorrect for date of this coin?

It's a FR2. I would sell one like this for about $3.
