In working with this image I noticed a possible partial Brockage or Counter brokage in the dished indent. The lighting just happened to catch the anomaly at the correct angle. What do you think? It really looks like something, but I have a weakness to Pareidolia in all it's forms. Also, can any of the LMC reverse die experts tell me what year this reverse might be? Very cool error, quite nice grade too. I'd be lying if I said I don't see the possible anomaly in the indent. However, I can't be of too much service in determining what it is. Most likely just Pareidolia, but I could totally see it being brockage or something.

I'm seeing something in there but can't definitively say. I'm useless for RDV info too. Nice photos and coin though.

I think you need coop or Mike on this cool coin. John1

If it were a mint error, check to see if a cent would fit into that area? To me it looks too small, but the reverse looks like it is a mint error that happened during a strike.

I've learned something! The shape of the indent has a different radius because the metal flow in the overlap area is not restrained. So, what does that mean? I made a copy in Photoshop of the reverse of these coins to test coop's idea of checking if a cent matches the indent shape. It doesn't, but the area on the outside edge of the indent with metal that was forced outside of the rim is very close in shape. In other words, the metal seen on the coin that is outside of the original radius of the cent SHOULD be about the same shape on the other coin involved in this strike. Below is another cent with a similar indent and similar section of metal forced outside of the radius. In the indent on the coin below, you can see a line where the rim of other coin left it's original shape before additional pressure pushed the edge out-of-round. So, what does THAT MEAN?!? If you look at the second example of this error, you can see the curve of the original impact with the cent has left an impression that does match the edge of a cent. Then the continued pressure of the strike caused the metal to continue to flow out from the edge to form a tongue or flap of metal outside of the curve of the rim forcing metal to flow out towards Lincoln's ear! I can explain this further and provide an image or two if needed. I'm sorry if this is confusing, but it's clear in my mind and answers questions about several coins I've had with this type of error. The coin below also shows deflection of the obverse die that is sometimes found on indent strikes like these. Now my brain hurts. Click on the picture for a larger image

Looks like a 2XXX, and the most common years for these were 2000 and 2001 so maybe start there with reverse research. Seems like maybe one of the A's of AMERICA is visible in the indent, but generally unless the brockage is pretty clear it doesn't change things much as for value or interest in the coin, just proves it was struck through an already struck cent instead of a planchet.

@Yoko I like your exponent. I agree with out flow. My question to you is Nord of head we have a semicircle which do not fit the coin semicircle. Question: What it is your opinion on this?

Does the edge on this one, also look like a partial collar?
