I should have been a detective or watched more CSI because my eyes glazed over trying to figure out what kind of variety this is. Or if it is. The mint mark is curious, the clerk gave me back to pennies change, this one and a shield penny

Actually I'm thinking this coin is a FS 101 on the mint mark so I'm going to go ahead and ask $1,000 for it

Well I'll be dadgum. I came down here to the big city to be an entrepreneur of exquisite coins. I even had a name for my company "Exquisite Coins for the Blind" I was going to help handicapped people to own some nice pennies and nickels. I even left my family and my mama up there in Tennessee her working her fingers to the bone in a Chinese laundry. I said Mama I'm going to come back a rich man and you going to not going to have to work another day in your life. I must have talked to her ear off tell her how I'm going to be an exquisite coin salesman till she fell asleep right there at the table.
The next morning she looked up at me and said Chip you sure do chatter her a lot why don't you just shut up. And I said yes Mama. But I don't think I can come down on my price and that's where the salesman part comes in

What a great company. Where did you get the idea for selling to the blind? Are you blind yourself? I appreciate the cause.

Why thank you John yeah I had that idea John I try to have a tender moment with the blind folks to break the ice and then I asked them for their credit card. You know like Ed McMahon on the Johnny Carson show sell them that fake insurance

My mama didn't have two coins to rub together when I left Tennessee John. And she loves Johnny Cash she's musically inclined but she's bow-legged and all she can do is play the symbols with her knees

I think your best shot at a DD is to go ahead and post pics of the shield cent.

LOL CentSation LoL I just may surprise you one day cent sation. I don't have a very good chance today but I'm going to give it a shot. Can't never could and didn't never did. But it will give you a chance to hoot and holler and call me a dummy. And ain't good old-fashioned fun with this coin collecting is all about? And if you really want to get the gist of my rhetorical remarks you should read it in a real Southern drawl with the Forrest Gump idealistic view) and I don't think I know what the heck rhetorical means but it works for me.
But according to every other coin I've submitted this is another example of just a machine run rampant because it hadn't been old by the night supervisor.
