Can anyone make out the third digit? It looks like a 5 to me but I'm not sure. If it is a 5 it would be a 1959 because the reverse is a memorial. Thanks for any help   Edited by jasper62

With the top barely showing and seeing the reverse, especially the designers initials I believe it is a 1959.

You can see part of the '5' on the obverse image. So with only one Memorial cent in the 1950's that was an easy one to figure out.  Edited by coop

Looks like a 5. No other number has a flat top except for a 7 and the downstroke is on the other side on it.
