Hello all of you very smart people!
So, I was reading an older message that was discussing if there is damage to the coin it ruins the value if there is a variety?

First, is that true if there is an error on the coin, but there is damage the coin is no longer worth anything?

Secondly, I have this 1974 Kennedy half dollar. There appears to be damage from wrapping? If this damage was not on the coin would this be a DD or MD on the snake hanging out of the eagle's mouth?

Here are some pictures.

. Your coin looks like it might have MD=machine doubling not a DDR=doubled die reverse. And yes, if a coin is damaged it will lower any possible premium.

Agree, Wrapping Machine Damage pretty much limits any value here.

But a damaged coin is always worth face value. So be happy it had nothing on it that would have made it a variety. (Thanks for the image of the half dollar with coin wrapper damage on it, as I didn't have am image of that yet. So thinks for posting it) Welcome Carla Lee to CCF.

Honestly not even seeing MD on the snake, but MD wouldn't add value anyway.

With the half dollar, I could wrap the letters by the coin wrapper damage. So how did I make the two different colors? Think about it? And they are both the same size. Think about it?
