So, I was reading an older message that was discussing if there is damage to the coin it ruins the value if there is a variety? First, is that true if there is an error on the coin, but there is damage the coin is no longer worth anything? Secondly, I have this 1974 Kennedy half dollar. There appears to be damage from wrapping? If this damage was not on the coin would this be a DD or MD on the snake hanging out of the eagle's mouth? Here are some pictures. John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 05/29/2021 05:01 am . Your coin looks like it might have MD=machine doubling not a DDR=doubled die reverse. And yes, if a coin is damaged it will lower any possible premium. John1 Report this Post to the Staff
