@becky, that looks like surface staining, perhaps from another coin resting on top of this one.

@Spence if you zoom in on the Word Trust the line looks like it goes under the R. Which is why I didn't think it could be damage

Ok yep--I see that too. This sort of surface staining seems to occur when coins are stacked on one another in an aqueous environment (think fountains and other water features). However, I'm far from infallible so let's see what others think.

Probably a victim of being in a cup holder for some time and the sodas altered the surface. Just a spender.

To me it looks live vending machine damage, but agree a spender in any case.  to the CCF!

If it were Wrapping Machine Damage or vending machine damage, the plating would have been scrapped off. Thus my conclusion of stain.
