Never thought I would ever find a 1973 DDO but found one today. Not the big one but I am so happy to have found this 1973 P DDO-002, IDO-002! The last pic was borrowed from coppercoins.
Die scratches flatten quickest on the open fields. The die scratches next to a device, lasts longer. Die scratches inside of the a closed device, lasts longest. But on these two coins, to me they appear a match, just different die states. The stronger dies scratches eventually fade to the more worn die. (Yours being a later die strike example)
