Close up is way too pixelated to tell. That's why we ask for no monitor shots, please. Your cent is plated, that much is certain. Please zoom in with your camera for a close up of the mintmark.

May have been, but now that it has been re-plated, very little value above stated amount on reverse...If your in the Southern California area, it may have been one (of the many) I've been dumping/spending lately. FYI self check-out at Target rejects them...

It's been dipped in some kind of metal to make it like shiny again. We can tell because it's too shiny, moreso than it would be brand new out of the mint. Also muddles up some of the details and that's why it's hard to say if it's a rpm. It also could be why it looks like a rpm.

@firemandmc these coins were minted with a thin protective coating of zinc that quickly would wear away leaving the steel to rust and degrade. Because these coins were very in demand as collector's pieces, people started replating worn coins to make them look like new again so that they could be sold at inflated prices. As a result, replated coins are very common. Being replated basically kills the value to any serious collector.

All the affected area for the mintmark is in the direction of die wear. So I feel this is not a RPM, but just a ruined coin with the plating on it.

Is the plating that obvious? Here is a MS-67 coin compared with a plated coin:

They should not look like that. They should have a dull finish. If a 1943 reflects, then you don't want it.
