Found this about a month or so ago in the reject bin at the local credit union's coin machine. I just can't understand why the machine didn't take it!

ST, not as much luck as a LOT of other people on here, but it keeps you hunting, wishing and dreaming.

Sweet coin.
All this talk about coin machines makes me wanna have a remote camera set up in the return box of my local coin star.

"Coin Star" and other coin counting machines have a fairly tight tolerance and since thsi coin was struck out of collar, it is not completely round and is slightly larger than the normal cent.
Nice find.

A terrific find florida. QUOTE "Coin Star" and other coin counting machines have a fairly tight tolerance" A bit off topic. I use CoinStar for the conveinence. I'm willing to give them their cut to avoid tedious rolling. I've wondered why the machines reject US coinage that is perfect in every way. By that I mean it's not warped, distorted or damaged in any way. I'm used to picking Canadian coins, Bermuda issues and the occasional French or Spanish coins from the reject slot. Does anyone have any insight concerning Coin Stars inner workings? The machine I use accepts dozens of quarters and hundreds of dimes but without fail but rejects several of each type whenever I use it. I just pocket and spend the rejects of course. Denis
