This one's kind of rare but I've always thought it was interesting. The coin shows little in the way of separation lines but has some of the largest notches in the Lincoln series. The FG shows pretty much complete letter-sized offset as well. I pulled a few of these out of a roll of proofs this evening. 1964 proof Lincoln Memorial cent doubled die - DDR-028

That is a stunner. I would love to see you just walk through some of the highlights of your collection one day, TB.

That notching is a great example to show people what we are talking about when we talk about "notching".

Thanks folks, and I'm going to see if I have time to fire up a quick contest. I'll be away a lot for the rest of the summer and lots to do on all fronts right now so time is tight. Full coin photos are always taken with a Canon S95 point and shoot under a table lamp with an open bulb (no frosting SATCO 1490 lumens) while sitting on a post it note. Close ups are taken with an AmScope trinocular stereoscope, but I generally don't use the scope-mounted camera unless it's something really small, but just shoot a pic through an ocular with my iPhone. Fairly quick to go from finding something to getting the pics needed. I throw all the images into a folder on my computer and use PhotoShop to rotate and crop them so that I have those done and saved on my computer should I ever need to use them again.

PS,I sent you an email this morning. Thanks for all you add to the forum. John1

Oh it'll be a fun summer. Always is. But slow start this year with first project all about night vision cameras and no where near as fun as catching the little buggers. Haven't decided yet whether I'm taking my portable scope with me to the field house but if I don't then there won't be many photo posts for a while. I still search and find things when away, just tough to post them.
