I wouldn't destroy it. Just keep it in a 2x2 and label it as "Altered - Not 3 Legged". Something to educate others in the future.

You see these altered 2 Legged Buffalos on ebay from time to time trying to sell as genuine.
It is like someone altering a 1944 cent to look like a 1914 cent and trying to sell it.

@T-BOP there's no reason a 3 legged Buffalo couldn't happen on any date since it's just a die polishing event.

That is true as there is a 1936 D 3 1/2 legged buffalo known but I would think most discoveries of true missing leg die polished varieties would have been attributed by now.
Maybe there's another but this coin the OP has shown is deliberately altered for sure.

I'd say it is now in the hobo nickel category or was tooled to deceive.
