That is true as there is a 1936 D 3 1/2 legged buffalo known but I would think most discoveries of true missing leg die polished varieties would have been attributed by now. Maybe there's another but this coin the OP has shown is deliberately altered for sure. I'd say it is now in the hobo nickel category or was tooled to deceive. Report this Post to the Staff
