Just a normal coin. Nothing special. I'd hate to spend more than a dollar to have it graded. It will only be worth one dollar.

Wait a minute. Images of two coins are getting a little confusing.
Please clarify if the coin on the right in the last image is the Sac in question and please let us know what the weight is. It does seem thinner than the other coin.
BigThudson, are you saying the original Sacagawea coin you posted is the same coin with the copper in the center and the lettering on the edge?
If so, that does seem to be a clad coin.

Yes the one on the right is the one in question it is a Sacagawea the left is also a Sacagawea but the one on the right appears to be nickel I did some soak test in vinegar and have not got that nickel look yet.ill try to post more pics but this coin is weird I tell ya. The weight is 8 grams. Please any help would be great it does appear that it has been cleaned, but I've soaked one in vinegar never got the look so I used a wire brush dremil on one still couldn't get the nickel look.?

Also tried to polish one and still never got the nickel look,I'm confused on this one it looks like copper clad but who knows I've tried everything to get the nickel look but no luck so far this is a must see in person coin lol... thank you all please get back with info if you have any. I have emailed heritage auction for info as well. By the way found this coin in a coin roll as is just like the picture.

I'm not real familiar with these dollar coins at all. I'm just looking at your images, seeing info and comments from others, and doing an online search. If real, it's quite valuable. Fewer than 20 have been found and it's believed they were struck in late 1999 when the final SBA dollars were being produced to to "meet the needs of vending machines". |
