@jess, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes of course keep anything you want. From this picture though it looks like someone has sanded down the features rather than this being a mint error.

The other side is completely bank nothing on it at all but it doesn't look altered by people it's just completely smooth

I hear what you are saying @jess, but the image that you provided seems to show a whole bunch of parallel scratches. Perhaps add a close-up pic of the smooth area to this thread?

Appears to be a product of a Magicians coin. See if a dime fits in that hollowed our area.

At this point, I'm seeing damage, not a mint error. Consider posting new photos--large and sharp--of both sides of the coin. Thanks.

The sanding marks tell the whole story. Chances are, now it is under weight.
