I think this coin might grade VF-20.

I just added a link to help in the decisions....I also dropped mine from a 45 to a 40...but I could still go either way.

nice original VF35
A Guide Book of Buffalo and Jefferson Nickels notes that the head tends to be a bit weak but overall, strikes are decent for this issue. I would like to see a touch more shoulder fur detail for EF40.

I am obviously a little biased but I believe the full horn alone yields a grade higher than VF-20. In my opinion this Buffalo is high VF to low XF. However I am not as familiar with this series so that is why I posted this one.

My initial thought was that this was right on the border between VF and EF, but a quick search of Heritage auctions make me think this would grade a solid EF-40.

Solid EF40. Full horn, lot of hair showing on buffalo, and good definition of Indian cheekbone and braid.
