I keep finding these pennies with this raised area by the side of the banner, looks like a little step that runs parallel to the rim and banner almost just curious what it is I'm still really new to collecting... thank you for advice tho!!!

It's driving me nuts maybe I'm not wording what I'm seeing correctly when I try looking online but I've only found it on the 2021 d shields been looking at other years and couldn't find it. My place I get my coins has a box with a few mixed in.. this would be the third I've found in 9 rolls or straight 2021-D'S

Looks like die flow lines caused by over use and deterioration of the die.

Deca, Are you talking about the tiny lines radiating out from the center to the rim, Or the 'ridge running parallel to the rim and the banner edge?

that's what I thought.. I've been looking and I cannot find anything that looks like that yet..

Hopefully, a few of the experts will show up and have a look at this.

So basically the jury is still out on the one gotta wait for a more knowledgeable expert to chime in hahaha just seems wierd to me but I'm just a noob so I guess my main question is it worth keeping selling or just throwing back into circulation if it's not that big a deal

Die Deterioration I believe. The die die shifted during the strike. IMHO.
