Hey guys! I finally got around to getting back onto CCF after about 4 years of inactivity. A lot has changed for me in the past 4 years, mainly that I'm turning 20 in one month from today (wohoo!) and that I'm going to be a junior in college this upcoming school year. To celebrate my return to the forum, I thought I would post this sweet 1999 silver proof set that I recently received on Monday! I found this on ebay for $70 (includes shipping) and, considering how these sets cost a lot more on ebay back when I first joined CCF, I'm pleased that I waited for it to go down to what I think was a good deal! What do y'all think about this set? Take care!     |

 back! Nice set, the Silver Proof Sets are generally down in price, except for 2012-Date... the 2021 set is a record high, which is not so nice. Looks like you're only a little under a year older than me  |

I turned twenty nearly forty years ago, so when I think of silver proof sets I think of the ones when our coinage had silver in it. I do have these sets as well, 1992 to date. The 2021 carries a hefty price because the mint charges a hefty price for them. I certainly do not purchase them with any illusions of making money on them.

Yeah, the 1999 silver proof set has re-entered the atmosphere on it's return from moon money pricing... Welcome back to the forum and happy birthday in advance.  |

I am personally looking into copper coins myself but next will be silver... Nice!!! Thanks for showing!

I'll agree with a few others on the once astronomical prices for that set, and the 2012. Which played in you're favor waiting. As for the 2012, that one is dropping as well.

I am in the market for a 1999 Silver Proof Set as well, as I have decided to start a Statehood Quarter Album. I plan to sell the Kennedy half, give away the silver dime, and let the nickel and cent enter circulation. |
