Hello all,

I recently consigned some counterfeit halfpenny tokens to CNG; one was struck over a brockage:

https://cNGCoins.com/Lot.aspx?LOT_ID=40062

It seems possible to me that the undertype is a Montreal Bank token, with the legend "DEUX - PROVINCE DE" being what is readable on the bit of the brockage which survived the overstrike.

If so...this would be a very later counterfeit halfpenny ! Despite the 1769 date would date to c. 1830s.

Any input much appreciated - only wish I had spotted this earlier !

Do you have larger pictures than that of CNG?
