VF-30 heavily cleaned. I see very little doubling of the 8, maybe a little Die Deterioration there.

Can you clarify what appears heavily cleaned? I agreed that the double punched is a little dubious but otherwise it looks toned to me. [speaking as a copper amateur].

On almost all circulated Vicky Large Cents, you get what has been called the "Vicky crud" in all the nooks and crannies in the design and lettering. The op's coin has not toned a normal brown color; it is all washed out. At the amount of wear that the coin shows, it should be darker and dirtier. The crud is made up of dirt, grime, hand oil and other substances that normally come in contact with the coin.
